our mission

Fair Weave exists because of the women of Cambodia they work alongside. Many were denied an education during the Khmer Rouge regime. Leaving them without the means to support themselves or their families, despite many being highly skilled in traditional hand weaving. We believe that still deserves a future. Fair Weave’s mission is to create real job opportunities for these women by bringing their handmade good into contemporary homes, building a space where traditional craftsmanship is valued, and the artisans behind it are properly cared for. In partnership with Fair Weave, we are proud to bring the products to the UK market.

Ethical manufacturing

Fair Weave’s manufacturing concerns not just the products, but the people and community behind them. By supporting us, you’re directly contributing to the wellbeing of the artisans and their community.

Fair Weave aims to support 120 female artisans in securing decent income and financial independence for their families. Additionally they work with the local school to provide educational support to the children in the community.

Environment

Fair Weave’s commitment to environmentally friendly textiles is reflected in the materials and dyes they choose. They work exclusively with premium quality, bio degradable materials such as cotton, silk, linen and bamboo yarns. At their dying workshops, they use natural plants such as indigo, mango leaves and marigold flowers to extract colour. This approach ensures the products look and feel beautiful, while having minimal impact on the earth.

WHK & Fairweave

We believe the artistry deserves a wider audience. Having witnessed the pieces being made first hand, we set out to bring Fair Weave’s products to the English market and share the stories of the weavers behind them.
